Well I have just spent a whole year in Belgium on an exchange study program. I have now been home for just over two months, and I finally feel like I am settling back into the Scottish way of life.

It's been alot harder than I thought it would be. I left thinking I would go, get some grades, learn a new language and then come back home, but it was so much more. I made new friends, new family and adapted to a new way of life. Coming home has made me realise just how naive I was and that is a scary feeling.

Sometimes, when I think of anything to do with my exchange year, I am overcome with this deep sadness! But I think this is normal and healthy. It's when I'm not sad that I think I should start to worry.
